Dear past players and parents
I hope you have all had a happy start to 2016. Over the last few weeks the Committee has been working on our plan for the 2016 season.
Aside from a brand new Committee of highly motivated and talented individuals (!) we also now have Ein Eric who has been coaching with the juniors and senior teams for almost 8 years stepping forward to join the Juniors Committee as the Junior Coaching Director. He is a qualified FFA B licensed coach and he will provide us with some technical insight into juniors and player development. Previously he has worked with both football associations overseas and with us on player development which has produced players that have played at state and senior levels. Several past junior players under his guidance now play in our senior teams, ladies team and several other NPL clubs in WA.
Ein will be working with coaches and parents on player development and will be working with the Committee on providing professional coaching to all our juniors. Together we are in planning on making positive changes for our club.
Programs we are holding this year:
- The In-House program for 5 – 9 year olds will run games every Sunday at Nash Field and Davis Oval at set times each week. Games will be small sided and parent run.
- Under 10s and Under 11s will follow the regular MiniRoos home and away format. The season will begin on Sunday 24th April and end on Sunday 11th Training will begin several weeks prior to the season kick off.
- The Juniors season begins with the Cup round on Sunday 3rd April with the official season kicking off on Sunday 24th Information concerning training times will be sent out in February.

Registration for the Western Knights opens on Friday 8th January 2016. Instructions for registration are listed below, but please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any issues with the system.
Save the Date: we will be holding an open day with plenty of entertainment for the kids, the usual sausage sizzle, uniform ordering and scratch matches with some of our senior team, so please put Saturday 12th March in your diary – more information to come soon.
We look forward to you joining us again in 2016 and if you know of others who would like to join please feel free to forward them this email or give them my contact details and I will be happy to have a chat with them.

Where do I go if I need help with my registration?
If you have any trouble with your registration you can use the following resources to help you.
- Visit the FAQ’s page on the MyFootballClub website.
- Call FFA Support Centre (02) 8020 4199 if you are having problems with your password to login.
Where more than one sibling from the same family registers to play with the club, there is a discount of $40 for each subsequent child’s registration. This will be processed separately after registration by the Club directly with you – there is no facility on the myfootballclub.com.au website to accommodate this.
Refunds will be considered in special circumstances only. Requests for refunds are to be made in writing to the Western Knights Junior Committee, who may approve a partial refund. A $50 administrative fee is non-refundable. The cost of the playing uniform is non-refundable after it has been ordered. Once the club has registered a player with FFA, the FFA registration fee will not be refunded to a player unless it is first refunded by the FFA.
- REGISTRATION FEES INCLUDE
Playing uniform, Western Knights club membership, Football West registration fees, end of year function, medal and team photo, referee fees (U12 and above) and insurance. Coaching during the week (does not include coaching on Sunday game days).
- TEAMS AND AGE GROUPINGS
Junior players will be placed in a team according to their year of birth. If your child wishes to play outside of their year of birth age grouping please contact the Junior Committee. Requests will be accommodated if possible and appropriate, but no guarantees can be given at the time of registration. If insufficient numbers of players register for particular age groups, composite age group teams may be formed. In age groups where there are enough players registering to form more than one team, players will be graded in to teams. Depending on the age group/number of players, trials may be held, or grading may be less formal. The coach’s/selectors decision regarding grading is final. Girls playing in mixed/boys competition may play “down” a year. Players must be available for training sessions and games. All junior games are played on Sundays, with the time varying week to week.
- COACH’S & MANAGERS
Teams are formed on the understanding that a parent or suitable individual will volunteer to coach the Sunday games and a Manager will assist the Committee in passing on information to each team.
