The Committee of the Western Knights Soccer Club are proud to announce the club has been informed that the Western Australian State Government, through the Department of Sports and Recreation (DSR), will provide a grant of $389,509 for its contribution towards the total upgrade of its home ground of Nash Field. The club was informed yesterday, and the announcement is listed on the DSR website alongside other grants offered.
The grant represents the State Government’s one third contribution towards the upgrade, plans of which were approved by the Town of Mosman Park. The upgrade is designed to modernise the club rooms, extend the changing room facilities, provide disabled access, and improve visitor experience. The total budget for the upgrade is $1.1m.
The funding grant was a result of months of effort from the Knights Senior and Junior committee to secure the funding in a difficult financial environment, and the club is grateful for their work. So too are we thankful towards the Town of Mosman Park, and the Member for Cottesloe, the Hon Colin Barnett. Further, the club thanks its major sponsor DTMT for providing technical design services and also to Palazzo Homes for their building and planning support.
The club will be holding a Q&A on Sunday 3 May 2015, beginning at 4pmĀ at Nash Field for its members to know how this grant will work towards improving the clubs home ground. More details to follow.
