Morley Windmills SC 1

Western Knights easily grabbed all three points in Round 16 of the All Flags State League competition as they won emphatically against Morley-Windmills SC.
The goals flowed very early as Paul Lloyd grabbed his first goal of the afternoon in the opening minutes of play. He managed to dribble past a defender to find space to give him the chance to score an absolute beauty that left the supporters in awe.
Knights dominated early. Jason Pottier rolled the ball through to the overlapping right back that cut it back to Lloyd. His finish was exquisite as it flew into the side netting.
Jamie Ricks chipped the keeper from outside the box to increase the lead to 3-0.
Ricks scored another goal almost immediately as Josh Norgate found him perfectly with a cross.
Sam Hutchings denied a ridiculous effort from Morley as their shot seemed destined for the net.
The hattrick was completed for Ricks when Johny Mirco left him one on one with the keeper.
Western Knights will be disappointed as they conceded after a swift counter attack that left Hutchings isolated and the clean sheet was ruined.
Luka Jukic furthered the embarrassment after he and Pottier almost seemed to tease the Morley defence before smashing the ball past the goalkeeper.
The last goal of the game completed the 7-1 demolishing as Johny Mirco scored his well-deserved goal after Pottier set him up.
Western Knights really need to build on from this fantastic performance and really compete against the top teams. There a number of points that separates the top three teams, which are all in close proximity to each other, with Knights. This deficit is not insurmountable though and Western Knights will continue to push until the very last game.
