Last Thursday Kate Gill (Matilda’s co-captain, defending Golden Boot winner and player for the W-League for Perth Glory) came to Nash Field to talk to the junior girls at the Club. She talked about her dedication to the sport, passion for football, and love of scoring goals. She let them know not only the importance of taking the sport they love seriously, about the sacrifices you have to make to get to the level she has achieved as well as the importance with finishing your schooling and post graduate studies. She talked about her time overseas in Sweden where she played for a variety of clubs and learnt Swedish along the way.
The girls were invited to ask questions and were slow to start but being girls, once they got going there was no end to the questions. They listened, inquired, laughed, learnt and thoroughly enjoyed the time Kate spent with them.
We wish Kate all the best for the coming season and hope to see her at the Club again next year.
